"Red Planet, Red Spirits"

Films: Ghosts of Mars (2001)

Alias: Various, mainly Big Daddy Mars

Type: Mystical

Location: Desert/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Unknown, possibly that of average humans.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Earth has too many horror stories of folks rising from the dead. Better to head to the newly terraformed world to get away from-sike! The ghosts on the planet Mars are worse than anyone could have thought.

History: It is the late 22nd century, and Mars is now governed by a matriarchy that's absolutely prospering. All of that quickly changes when some are sent to find a criminal, only to stumble upon an abandoned part of Mars home to the result of an experiment gone wrong. Due to some folly beforehand, the spirits of Mars' forgotten civilization are out and about, and they've possessed hundreds to attack the living and do their best impressions of Mad Max extras.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Just about every person possessed is killed in a nuclear blast...but the spirits remain, and they're coming for the mainland in the form of a great storm...

Powers/Abilities: The ghosts can hop from body to body and possess them. If need be, they can leave their body at any time to either find another or gather around.

Weakness: None, though drugs seem to hold them back a bit.

Scariness Factor: 4-Admittingly, a guy like Big Daddy Mars makes you wonder if it's supposed to strike fear into everyone. But aside from that, we are eternally thankful that these ghosts didn't arrive on Earth. Would you look at that motely crew they got going with the possessed?!

Trivia: -Both Ice Cube and John Carpenter would rather forget that they had any involvement with this film.

-An ongoing rumor is that this film was once "Escape from Mars", a third sequel to "Escape from New York".

Words to live by, except this didn't actually belong to them.

"To Immortan Joe's!"
Those symbols should have been red flags. Have we learned nothing?!
